When creating a gallery, you choose a type. This choice isn't set in stone: it pre-activates the right features to save you time, and you can adjust everything afterwards in the settings.
Key points
All of a gallery's settings are found in its Settings and depend on the gallery type selected
You choose what your clients can do: view, select, download, comment
Each setting can be changed at any time
What the type is forRather than adjusting each option one by one, the type automatically checks the right ones for you.
Selection — to let clients choose before editingThis is the default type, ideal before editing. Your client likes and checks their favorite photos, then sends you their selection. The watermark is enabled (your images are protected when displayed) and downloading is disabled (the client chooses, but doesn't get the files yet). You can limit the number of photos included and charge for additional photos.
Delivery — to hand over the final photosDesigned for final delivery: downloading is enabled. Your client gets their photos, either the whole gallery at once, or photo by photo, in original or lightweight quality.
Custom — the all-in-one galleryAll features are enabled (watermark, selection/likes and downloading). Handy if you want to offer everything in a single gallery and build it yourself.
Portfolio — a showcaseA showcase gallery to present your work: no selection or downloading, just your images highlighted. Perfect for a portfolio or a samples page.
From your gallery, open the Settings. There you can configure:
Password — secure access → Protect my gallery with a password
Download — allow, limit or restrict → Allow, limit or restrict downloads
Selection — let your client choose their favorites → Selection mode
Comments — let your clients comment → Enable comments
Beyond written comments, your client can draw directly on the image to point out a detail: a desired crop, an edit, an element to remove… It's much clearer than a description by email.
Expiration — close access on a given date → Set an expiration date
Display — music, welcome message, videos → Customize the display
Give your gallery a title. Pelli automatically derives its URL (the link yourname.pelli.io/your-title, which can be edited). You can also indicate the event date and a category (to organize your galleries on your public page, e.g. "Weddings").
Add a cover image (banner, landscape format) displayed at the top of the gallery. Set its focal point: you choose the area of the image to keep clearly visible, including on mobile where the framing is tighter. You can also reuse a default banner on all your galleries.
Personnaliser l'affichage : musique, message d'accueil et vidéos
Ajouter une musique d'ambiance, afficher un message d'accueil et régler la présentation de vos vidéos.
Set your default preferences (banner, expiration period, password protection, store price… available in your account settings): each new gallery will be pre-filled with these settings, which you can always adapt case by case.
How to set an expiration date:
Expiration prevents you from leaving galleries lingering indefinitely — useful for tidying up or encouraging your clients to download.
In the Settings, under Expiration, choose a date. By default, a gallery expires after 365 days, but you can set whatever you want — and you can push back the date whenever you like.
Two possible behaviors at expiration:
Switch to draft: the gallery is no longer visible to your clients, but your photos are kept. You can reactivate it by setting it back to published.
Delete permanently: the gallery and its photos are erased, and the storage space is freed up. Choose this fully aware of the consequences.
Notifying your clientsEnable the email reminder (sent a few days before expiration) and the display of the expiration date in emails: your clients are encouraged to download in time before access closes.
Frequently asked questionsCan I change the type after creating the gallery? Yes: simply adjust the settings (selection, download…) in the settings.
How do I change a gallery's cover? Replace the cover image; the focal point ensures clean framing on all screens.
What is my gallery's link based on? On the title, and it remains editable.
Can I apply the same settings to all my galleries? Yes, via your account's default settings.
