By default, all your galleries and your public page on Pelli end with the domain name .pelli.io. It's convenient for getting started quickly, but you can perfectly well replace this suffix with the domain name of your choice.
Using your own domain name brings you several advantages:
Professional credibility: a custom domain name projects a more serious and memorable image to clients and partners.
Consistent branding: your domain name can match your logo, your business cards and your social media to create a recognizable identity.
Better search ranking (SEO): a clean and stable domain favors indexing and the trust of search engines over the long term.
Control and flexibility: you can configure subdomains, redirects or professional emails linked to your domain.
Photographers who adopt a custom domain often give the impression of an established studio: marietruong.com, atelier-benoit.fr, nom.prenom.photography. These choices reinforce client trust and facilitate word of mouth.
Prerequisite: before connecting your domain name on Pelli, you must purchase it from a registrar like OVH, Gandi, Ionos, or any other registrar of your choice.
Once you own your domain name, add your domain from your Photographer space > Settings > Advanced > Domain.
You must add a DNS record at your registrar (where you purchased your domain).
Log in to your domain manager (OVH, Gandi, Ionos, GoDaddy, etc.)
Go to the "DNS Zone" or "DNS Management" section
Add a new record of type CNAME with the indicated values
Wait for DNS propagation (usually a few minutes, sometimes up to 24h)
No, we do not sell domain names. We believe it's important that you own your domain. You can buy one from OVH, Gandi, Ionos or any other registrar of your choice, then connect it to Pelli afterwards.
Buying a domain name is relatively inexpensive: often between 8 € and 20 € per year depending on the extension (.com, .fr, etc.). DNS management fees may be included with some registrars. Pelli does not necessarily charge additional fees to connect an external domain, but check your subscription.
Yes and no!
As things stand, if you use the same domain as your current website, the latter will be replaced by your Pelli public page.
If you want to keep your current website, use a subdomain. This will allow you to keep your current website while having a custom domain name on Pelli.
If you don't currently have a website or you want to use Pelli as a Portfolio, then you can use your main domain. In this case, you will centralize all your photography activity on Pelli! For you and your clients, everything is simpler!
