What types of galleries can I create?
Four types of galleries are available:
Selection: your clients can like and select their favorite photos. The watermark is enabled automatically, and downloading is disabled by default.
Delivery: intended for handing over the final photos. Downloading is enabled automatically, and the watermark and selection are disabled by default.
Portfolio: a simple showcase of your photos. No downloading, no selection, no watermark. Ideal for presenting your work.
Custom: all options are available and can be enabled à la carte (watermark, selection, download, comments, etc.).
What information do I need to provide to create a gallery?
A title (required)
A slug (URL identifier, generated automatically from the title, editable manually)
An event date (required, defaults to today's date)
A cover image (required, unless you have configured a default cover image in your settings)
Some categories (optional, you can create them on the fly)
How many galleries can I create?
Free plan: 3 galleries maximum
Pro plan: unlimited
Ultra plan: unlimited
Can I change a gallery's type after creating it?
Yes. You can change the type from the gallery settings. The enabled/disabled options will adjust automatically based on the new type chosen.
What are the different statuses of a gallery?
Draft: visible only to you. The gallery is not accessible to the public.
Published: accessible to everyone via its URL.
Unlisted: accessible only via a direct link. It does not appear on your public page.
Can I delete a gallery?
Yes, you can delete a gallery.
Which photo formats are accepted? The following formats are accepted: JPG, PNG, WEBP, TIFF and RAW formats.
Which video formats are accepted? The following formats are accepted: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WEBM.
What are the storage limits?
Free plan: 1 GB, no video
Pro plan: 50 GB, 5 hours of video
Ultra plan: near-unlimited storage (~100 TB), 15 hours of video
How are my photos processed after upload?
Three versions of your photos are created automatically:
Original: your file as is, stored in high resolution
Optimized: resized to 2560 px wide maximum, in progressive JPEG quality 95 (for web display)
Thumbnail: 200×200 px (for previews and folders)
How does duplicate detection work?
Before each upload, the system compares file names (photos and videos) with those already present in the gallery. If duplicates are detected, a window offers to ignore them or upload everything anyway.
How do videos work?
After upload, the video goes through a transcoding phase. Its status changes from "pending" to "processed". The dimensions and duration are recorded. Two versions are kept: the original and the optimized version.
Can I organize my photos into folders?
Yes. You can create folders in each gallery, move photos and videos into them, and set a display order. Folders cannot be nested (no subfolders).
Can I set a cover photo for a folder?
Yes. One photo per folder can be set as the cover image.
Can folders be shared individually?
Yes, via custom share links. You can create a link that only gives access to certain specific folders of the gallery.
How does the watermark work?
You can upload an image (a logo, a signature…) and then customize how your watermark is displayed on your images, from the Galleries > Watermark menu. You can change the watermark's size, opacity and position on the image.
Can I create several watermarks? Yes, you can create several watermarks depending on your uses and activities.
How does the gallery banner work? Each gallery has a cover image displayed at the top of the public page. You can set a focal point to control the cropping of the image on different screen formats.
Can I use a default cover image? Yes, you can set a default cover image in your account settings. It will be applied automatically to all new galleries, with its focal point.
What sharing methods are available?
You can share your galleries using the following options:
Direct link: the gallery's public URL (e.g.: yourslug.pelli.io/gallery-name)
Email: sending a personalized email to your clients
SMS: sending a personalized SMS to your clients
QR code: generated automatically from the gallery link, downloadable as a PNG or printable on an A4 sheet with the gallery's title and banner.
Instagram Story: generation of an image in Story format (1080×1920 px) with the title and your name, shareable directly on Instagram or downloadable.
How does password protection work?
You enable protection and set a password. The visitor must enter it to access the gallery. Once the password is validated, a cookie is created in their browser to avoid asking for it again.
How do I give access to a specific client?
Add the client's email address to the gallery. They will receive an email with a login link. They can then find all the galleries they have access to from their client area.
Can I remove a client's access?
Yes. You can remove a client from a gallery's access list at any time.
What is a collaborator?
A collaborator is another Pelli user (photographer) whom you invite to work on your gallery. They can view the data, add notes, and manage photos and folders.
How do I invite a collaborator?
You invite them by email. They must have a Pelli account. An invitation email is sent to them.
Can I remove a collaborator?
Yes, at any time.
Can a collaborator delete my gallery?
No. Only the gallery owner can change the settings and delete the gallery.
Can I set an expiration date for my gallery?
Yes. You configure an expiration date and an action to run:
Switch to draft: the gallery automatically becomes private
Delete: the gallery is deleted (reversible deletion)
Can I display the expiration date in the emails sent to clients?
Yes. An option lets you include the expiration date in the share emails.
Can I receive a reminder before expiration?
Yes. If you enable this option, a reminder email is sent 4 days before the expiration date.
How does the selection system work?
Your clients can mark photos as "liked" (thumb) or "superliked" (heart). The superlike is optional and can be enabled/disabled in your design settings.
Can I limit the number of selections?
Yes. You can enable a selection limit and set the maximum number of photos. By default, the limit is 10.
What happens if the client exceeds the limit?
You can allow exceeding the limit. If enabled, the additional photos are charged at a price you set (default: €5 per photo). You can choose whether or not to display this price to the client.
How does the client confirm their selection?
From the "Favorites" view, the client sees a summary of their likes and superlikes, then confirms their selection via the "Send favorites" button. You then receive an email with the list of selected photos.
Can clients comment on photos?
Yes, if you enable comments on the gallery.
How does downloading work for clients?
If downloading is enabled, your clients can download the photos by choosing between the original (high resolution) or optimized (web) version.
Does the client have to provide their email to download?
Yes, if the client is not authenticated (no linked client account), they must enter their email address before being able to download.
Can I add music to a gallery?
Yes, on the Ultra and Enterprise plans only. Two sources are available:
Spotify: search and select a Spotify track, displayed via an integrated player
MP3 upload: you upload your own audio file
The player appears as an overlay on the public gallery; the client can open/close it via an icon.
What is the welcome message?
It's the message that appears automatically when a client opens your gallery. You can set a custom title and a message. Your logo and your company name are displayed automatically.
What customization options do I have for the public display?
These settings apply to all your galleries (they are set at the account level):
Photo layout: column, grid or row
Spacing: small, medium or large
Theme: light or dark
Primary color: custom color applied to buttons, links and accents. The text adapts automatically (black or white) based on the brightness of the chosen color.
Rounded corners: 0 px, 4 px, 8 px or 12 px
Cover typography: 9 fonts available (Poppins, Georgia, Prata, Dancing, Monte Carlo, Futura, Anton, Philosopher, Quicksand)
Cover size: small (40% of screen height), medium (80%), large (100% full screen)
Text position on the cover: left, center or right
Cover decoration: none, or 5 decorative SVG patterns under the title
Slideshow animation: none, slide or fade
Logo display on the cover: can be enabled/disabled
Gallery title display: can be enabled/disabled
Date display: can be enabled/disabled
Minimalist mode: replaces the colored gradients of the like/superlike buttons with black and white
Superlike: enables/disables the heart button (in addition to the thumb)
Hide the Pelli logo: removes the Pelli mention at the bottom of the page (Ultra plan only)
Can I take notes on a gallery? Yes. Each gallery has a private notes field. These notes are visible only to you and your collaborators, never to clients.
What statistics are tracked per gallery?
Number of views (total and unique)
Number of likes and superlikes
Number of downloads
Number of comments
Number of emails sent
Number of orders and revenue (if the store is enabled)
Detailed activity per client (who viewed, liked, downloaded, commented, ordered
Can I organize my galleries by categories?
Yes, you can create categories and assign them to your galleries. A gallery can have several categories. You can create new categories directly from the gallery creation form.
